Laura Berardi McConnell first fell in love with color through her exposure to the art community – both from her mother’s career as an artist and from her time in fundraising for some of the largest art museums across the country including the Art Institute of Chicago, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Heard Museum, and many more.  

After being exposed to three generations of Berardi family members in the home textile and furniture industry, it was only natural that Laura’s passion for design grew. In 2025, Laura Michelle Designs was born with the goal and privilege of crafting charming interiors of character.

A self-described “Southern maximalist,” Laura pulls inspiration from vintage furniture, historic homes, and art. To Laura, patina equals character – and character is what she crafts into every project her design studio touches.  

With homes serving as the primary destination for where family memories are made, it is a superb honor to help craft the settings of these intimate moments that weave into the stories for generations to come. It is a goal of Laura Michelle Designs to infuse character, inspire joy, or simplify routines throughout our projects.

Laura Michelle Designs offers bespoke decorating services, including full-service design. The studio works with new builds and renovations, or on a consulting basis for home furnishings, spacial design, and color consultations.
